Battered Onion Rings
2 large onions
100 g (4 oz) plain flour
1 egg
150 ml (1/4 pint) milk
pinch of salt
1 tablespoon oil
Peel & slice onions, separate into rings. Mix flour & salt, add egg yolk milk
& oil. Mix well until all lumps are gone. Beat egg white until stiff & fold
into batter. Dip onion rings in batter. Fry for about 5 minutes.
