Shepard's Pie
Ingredients
1 Tbl Olive Oil
227g (8 oz) Diced Red Onion
1 Teaspoon Thyme
500g (1 lb) Ground Beef
142g (5 oz) Frozen Carrots (about half a package)
142g (5 oz) Frozen Peas (about half a package)
2 Beef Stock Cubes
2 Tbl Flour
2 Cups of Mashed Potatoes
Cheddar Cheese
Method

Get the olive oil hot, and add the onion and thyme. Saute about five minutes.

Add the meat and brown. Drain the grease. Return to pan.
|
|
While the meat is cooking, thaw the vegetables under cold tap water. Cook in
boiling water for five to seven minutes. Also dissolve the beef stock cubes in 227g (8 oz)
of boiling water.

In the pan, mix together the ground beef, beef stock, flour, and vegetables. Add this
mixture to a baking dish. Put in the refrigerator while you make the mashed potatoes.
Doing so will allow the mixture to get thicker, and adding the mashed potatoes on
top will be an easier job.

Add the mashed potatoes (while still hot) on top, starting at the edges.
Once you have the edges filled in,
fill in the middle. Top with grated cheddar cheese.

Bake for 15-20 minutes in a pre-heated 230C (450F) degrees oven. Keep watching
to ensure the cheese doesn't burn. Enjoy!
