Eggy Soldiers

Ingredients

1 Egg
2 Pieces of Toast
Salt
Pepper

Method

Soft boil a three minute egg. Keep in mind, a refrigerated egg will take about an extra minute. Place in the egg cup large side down. (Egg will be extremely hot.)

Near the top of the egg, use the back edge of a knife to tap once firmly. This will make a small break in the shell. Peel off enough shell to be able to place the sharp side of the knife directly on the egg. While holding the top of the egg firmly, swiftly cut the top of the egg off. A tool called an "egg topper" will make this job easier and provide a clean cut every time.

Remove any stray pieces of shell that broke loose during the cutting process. Lightly salt and pepper the egg. Prepare two pieces of toast and cut into slices. Dip the slices of toast into the warm yolk. After finishing the toast, finish by digging out the white of the egg and remaining yolk with a small spoon.
